The most famous Foundation in the world
Rimmel foundation is the most famous Foundation in the world although it may not be the best Foundation it is sold in most countries around the world. Rimmel also known as ‘Rimmel London’ is a cosmetics brand currently owned by Coty, Inc. Rimmel was founded by Eugene Rimmel in 1834 in Regent Street, London, England. Eugene Rimmel helped at his dad’s new perfumery in London. When he was 24 Eugene was an expert perfumer himself, as he worked for so long with his dad as well as a cosmetics guru, and opened up his own store in Regent Street. When he died, in 1887 his two sons took over the business and it grew into what it is today. Rimmel produces make-up products like foundation and eye shadow etc. Rimmel has a motto which is ‘Get the London Look’. Which is regularly used on TV advertisements? Rimmel used to be modelled by Holly Willoughby who is a TV presenter. The current face of Rimmel is Mick Jagger's daughter Georgia May Jagger.
Why?
As the years went by people changed and so did foundation! At the start of time many people used deadly lead on their faces to make them paler and later on in the years like now it got much safer but most people want to be darker! We use zinc oxides and moisturisers and even SPF (Sun Protection) so now a lot of foundations are healthy for the skin.
Cosmetic sales have become a very big industry and are making a huge amount of money for the economy but why do people feel the need to use makeup? Is it because everyone else does it? Yes it is because if nobody knew about foundation or nobody wore it nobody else would wear it! In a lifetime on average a women spend $15,000. Which is a lot of money you could buy a car with that! But still the makeup industry wins.
Foundations around the world
Chinese people didn’t wear much make up at the start of time. In around 3000BC they started with their nails, they used died beeswax and egg white to make them shiny. The colours represented social class, so people who wore gold and silver at that time were Royals then later on in time royals wore black or red. The lower classes weren’t allowed to wear any colours on their nails!
Flowers were used in China for makeup at the same time as the nail colour came in. “Legend has it that once on the 7th day of the 1st lunar month, while Princess Shouyang daughter of Emperor Wu of Liu Song was resting under the eaves of Hanzhang Palace near the plum trees after wandering in the gardens, a plum blossom drifted down onto her fair face, leaving a floral imprint on her forehead that enhanced her beauty further. The court ladies were said to be so impressed, that they started decorating their own foreheads with a small delicate plum blossom design”. This story is a Myth and when the people heard about this story they started experimenting with flowers on their faces and called it “plum blossom makeup” it made their faces darker, but later on in time the Chinese wanted a lighter completion because they thought it looked better so for a foundation they put bird pooh over their faces firstly they dried it out so it turned into a powder and they mashed it up and covered it on their faces. This is still done today but only in festivals such as Chinese New Year etc.
I got the story about the Princess from Wikipedia

Foundation What?
Hello again Bloggers! we all know about the "good" Foundations that everyone has that come from the huge shops e.g.Brown Thomas etc. A lot of the time you are being cheated with the high end products why not try your local pharmacy! why not Rimmel's Wake me up! I highly reccomend this!
Be careful with your foundations they will go off!and that will make you break out because the protein in the foundation will go off! and stop working so make sure to check!
Organic Foundation is made from natural minerals like calcium, silica and magnesium. They don’t contain talc fillers or preservitevs If find any Organic foundation which is quite hard to find. they are said to be longer lasting, safe to sleep in and a natural protective from UVA and UVB rays which is important for not breaking out.So I reccomend them!
